Coming of Age: The 21st PopFest Conference
8 - 10 July 2013 - CPC was pleased to be a sponsor at the 21st PopFest Conference which was held at the University of Southampton. This established annual postgraduate population studies conference offers a great opportunity for postgraduate research students from a wide range of disciplines to present their work and develop their networks.
The conference theme 'Coming of Age' marked the 21st Birthday of PopFest and its return to its birthplace of the University of Southampton, which also hosted the very first PopFest Conference.
Plenary lectures came from Professor David Martin who shared his extensive knowledge and experience in the practical application of statistical methodologies in his positions of co-Director of both the ESRC UK Data Service and ESRC National Centre for Research Methods and Dr Diana Lopez-Falcon, of the Population Europe Secretariat, who discussed policy issues in population studies, and the challenges and possibilities for demographers in the future.
