CPC Director at TEDx Southampton

23 March 2014 - CPC's Director, Professor Jane Falkingham, gave a TEDx talk at the University of Southampton's independently organised TED event on 'Flourishing in the 21st Century'.

Professor Falkingham's talk focussed on global population change, looking to the past and also considering the present and our future.

There were around ten speakers at the event, each talking on a different subject related to 'Flourishing in the 21st Century'.

The first TEDxSouthamptonUniversity was held in 2013 and featured a range of talks that explored issues related to sustainability. In 2014, the event's focus was on what humans can do to not only sustain but flourish, and new ways of living in a new world. As a society, we may have to navigate dangers, some from the natural world, some from ourselves, but how can we and future generations flourish in the 21st Century?
