Expert Group on the Active Ageing Index

13-14 November 2014 - CPC member, Professor Asghar Zaidi, presented research findings at this two-day meeting held in Brussels.

The meeting was hosted by the Active Ageing Index (AAI) project team who, in 2012, developed the Active Ageing Index. The AAI aims to serve as an evidence-based tool to monitor and compare active ageing outcomes across countries and to illustrate the untapped potential of older people.

Professor Zaidi presented the research results, including an update of the index for EU-28, trends analysis and the geographical extension of the index, to the AAI expert group on 13 November.

On 14 November, he presented the AAI to policy-makers including EU institutions, civil society representatives and think-tanks, to fuel a discussion on the use of the AAI in policy-making at the European, international and regional level.
