Royal Statistical Society Official Statistics and Social Statistics Sections - joint meeting | ONS population projections

2 December 2015 - Every two years the Office for National Statistics (ONS) publish National Population Projections (NPPs) by age and sex for the UK and constituent countries. The NPPs include information on the principal (main) and variant (alternative scenario) projections for each country together with details of the fertility, mortality and migration assumptions on which they are based.

An open meeting was held at the Royal Statistical Society for discussion and comments on the latest projections and to provide opportunities for feedback from users. Following a presentation of the latest projections-and methods by Paul Vickers, Head of Population Statistics Outputs ONS; CPC Director Professor Jane Falkingham discussed the findings.
