Opportunities to contribute to Demotrends blog

Demotrends, a blog founded and edited by young researchers in the field of demography, including PhD students from across Europe, aims to connect researchers across topics, institutions, and countries. They are keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved. You may like to write a one-off post (related to your general research interests), or a research spotlight (which allows you to advertise and discuss your current research). You may even be interested in becoming a regular contributor, and you don't need to be an established (or published) researcher to contribute.

Since its launch a year ago, the blog has covered topics relating to health, the UK Census, birth rates, Lexis diagrams, population composition, statistical techniques, abortion and migration.

Much of Demotrends content relates to demography, but there is a very broad view of what can be included. The idea is to be a gateway to knowledge, with the belief that most social science relates to 'populations' in some sense.

By expanding the group of editors and contributors, Demotrends hopes to increase both the geographic reach and the scope of demographic topics covered.

They are also inviting people to get in touch to share information on news, conferences, jobs, teaching and learning, other blogs, or anything else that's of interest.

In addition, they are looking for a volunteer to help manage the website, the twitter feed and in finding contributors.
