  • CPC researcher publishes in BMJ

CPC researcher, Professor John MacInnes, has recently had an article published in the BMJ entitled 'Population ageing: the timebomb that isn't?'.

Along with Dr Jeroen Spijker, Professor MacInnes argues that current measures of population ageing are misleading and that the numbers of dependent older people in the UK and other countries have actually been falling in recent years.

The work, funded by the ESRC, was recently presented at a seminar as part of the ESRC's Festival of Social Science.

Professor MacInnes and Dr Spijker will also be presenting their work, 'Population ageing: the time bomb that isn't?', as part of the CPC Seminar Series on 12 December at the University of Southampton.
