  • Sociology moves up in World University Rankings at University of Southampton

Sociology at the University of Southampton has moved up the QS World University Rankings from the 101-150 category in 2013, to the 51-100 category in 2014. This marks a rise for the second year running, with the subject area having moved up from 151-200 category in 2012.

Research centres such as CPC, the Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute and the Centre for Research on Ageing have strongly contributed to raising the profile and reputation of Sociology at the University of Southampton.

High profile international events attended by members of the centres, such as the IUSSP International Population Conference in South Korea, and the annual Population Association of America conference, have helped to promote the University of Southampton as a world-leading institution at which to study Sociology.
