  • CPC to appear on BBC Breakfast

On Friday 16 January, the ESRC Centre for Population Change will be appearing on BBC Breakfast as part of their Living Longer series. The appearance is a climax of the highly popular UK tour of the 'How to get to 100 - and enjoy it' exhibition, which has seen CPC take cutting-edge demographic research to the public across the UK.

CPC Director, Professor Jane Falkingham, will be appearing alongside other CPC members, as well as academics, experts and campaigners from a range of other organisations.

The BBC are inviting members of the public to send questions about living longer and the impact on their lives and society during the week of 12 January, which will then be put to the assembled experts during a live debate on Friday morning's show.

The exhibition will form the backdrop of this debate, with sections of the show coming live from the installation in The Lowry, Salford Quays.

"We are so pleased that the BBC has chosen our exhibition to highlight the pressing issues which are starting to arise from people living longer and our ageing society," says Professor Jane Falkingham. "Touring the exhibition around the UK this autumn has shown us that the public are truly interested in and keen to engage with questions and ideas surrounding population change and what it means for our collective future. I look forward to extending our research to an even wider audience on Friday."

The show will air on Friday 16 January between 8:30am - 9.15am on BBC1. If you would like to submit a question for the debate please email bbcbreakfast@bbc.co.uk or find them on Twitter (@BBCBreakfast) and Facebook. You can also use twitter to follow #livinglonger all week for live updates, comment and research.
