  • CPC Director elected as EAPS Vice-President

CPC is proud to announce Jane Falkingham has been voted as the new Vice-President of the European Association for Population Studies following a vote open to over 640 EAPS members.

Founded in 1983 the association is a non-profit organisation which promotes European research on population issues and provides an international and interdisciplinary forum for academics to discuss population studies.

Jane is very much looking forward to embracing her new role, telling us "I am delighted to be Vice-President of the EAPS council. The Association does a fantastic job of promoting research on population issues and I look forward to working with my fellow Council members to continue this work."

Jane's new role will involve overseeing the affairs of the Association and organising its activities, which include the biennial European Population Conference.

CPC would like to extend our hearty congratulations to the newly elected President, Zsolt Speder, Secretary-General/Treasurer: Hill Kulu and members Tomas Sobotka, Helga de Valk.

The transfer from the old to the new Council will take place at the end of the upcoming General Assembly of EAPS, on 1st September during the European Population Conference 2016.

CPC has a close relationship with EAPS, especially through attendance at EPC and work with Population Europe and other EAPS funded projects. We look forward to this relationship continuing through Jane's appointment.
