  • Future of Museums: Audiences

29 March 2017 - In a new collaboration with the Museums Association, CPC's Director Professor Jane Falkingham presented a keynote speech at an event to explore how our rapidly changing society will affect the relationship that museums have with audiences in the future.

Chaired by Tonya Nelson, Head of UCL Museums and Collections, the event looked at the influence that demographic, technological and other trends will have on the needs of audiences, including families, young people, older visitors and those with disabilities. Jane shed light on future demographic trends and was joined by other speakers: Anne Torreggiani, CEO, The Audience Agency; Maggie Appleton, Chief Executive, Royal Airforce Museum; Laura Phillips, Head of Learning and Participation, British Museum; and others, who discussed how museums can deepen their engagement with the public and have a greater impact on their lives.

The event 'Future of Museums: Audiences' took place on 29th March 2016 from 9.30am - 5.00pm at the Wellcome Collection, London.
