  • CPC at BSPS Conference 2018

Many CPC members will be contributing to this year's British Society of Population Studies Conference (BSPS) conference at the University of Winchester, due to take place 10 – 12 September 2018.

CPC's core objectives are linked closely to those of the British Society for Population studies and this is never more evident than in our participation in the society's annual conference.

CPC members are coordinating several of the academic strands this year including:
Athina Vlachantoni - 'Ageing and the lifecourse' and ‘BREXIT: before and after’.
Heini Vaisenan - ‘Feminist quantitative science’.
Jason Hilton - 'Innovative data, methods and models'.
Hill Kulu – ‘Migration and mobilities’.

With 22 presentations by CPC members across the three days, there will be lots of opportunities to find out more about CPC research.

CPC members’ work at the conference will delve into all aspects of our research, from family planning and social care needs, to examining families and households across the generations both in the UK and abroad. Many of our researchers will be contributing to the Brexit session, discussing the effects on families, student migration and citizenship. Our modelling team will be presenting work on methods for analysing asylum seekers and refugees in the UK, as well as showcasing tools to forecast UK fertility and approaches to investigating European migration using Facebook.

The full timetable and abstracts are available on the BSPS Conference website. You can also follow our Tweets from the event @CPCpopulation
