  • Has migration reached a threshold in 21st century China? An International Symposium

    9 November 2012 - CPC hosted an international symposium on Migration, Economic and Social Development in Modern China at the University of Southampton. The symposium was jointly organised with the Confucius Institute, the Centre for Contemporary China and the Centre for Global Health Population, Poverty & Policy.

    It examined the evidence of contemporary migration impact on societies and human development in China. The aim was to understand the complexities and challenges in designing policies and programme interventions needed for improving the livelihood of migrants living in urban areas and their left-behind rural areas.
