Through the media, CPC experts have been busy ensuring our research reaches a wide audience, keeping the public up-to-date on the latest knowledge about population change.

The 'How to get to 100 - and enjoy it' exhibition received considerable press coverage throughout it's UK tour, including local print and online news articles, radio interviews on BBC Radio West Midlands, BBC Radio Cardiff and BBC Radio Ulster, and television interviews on STV Glasgow's Riverside Show and UVTV Belfast's Focal Point. Most significantly, the exhibition formed the backdrop to the live finale of BBC Breakfast's Living Longer series and Professor Jane Falkingham was interviewed several times throughout the programme.

With the upcoming election, issues such as the UK's ageing population and immigration have been much discussed in the media. Professor Robert Wright has contributed to conversations about positive outcomes of immigration including articles in the Guardian Too few voters understand immigrants' role in UK recovery, BBC Scotland Businesses 'positive' on immigration and the National EU immigrants put much more into public purse than they take out. Professor Jane Falkingham commented on ONS population ageing forecasts in an article by the Independent Bournemouth and Barking: The two areas of UK where people are getting younger. Dr Athina Vlachantoni participated in the Guardian's Q&A, discussing What should the next government do to support the ageing population?

Dr Alison Dawson commented on suggestions to improve care homes in the Telegraph Care homes should be 'civilised' by filling them with personal possessions and furniture, the care minister has said and the Express Elderly in care must be given home comforts says new government review.

Dr Jennifer Holland discussed the Rise of the only child as women build their careers in the Sunday Times.

CPC has also received international coverage; Professor Jane Falkingham was interviewed about population ageing for Finnish newspaper YLE, Professor Traute Mayer published an article with taz.de on old-age poverty and Dr Jakub Bijak featured in an article published by Azbarez.com for his presentation on theories around population losses at The Hague Institute for Global Justice Conference: The Armenian Genocide Legacy 100 Years On.
