Young Adults: Living and Learning in Recessional Times
To showcase key findings from our project on Young Adults' Transitions, led by Professor Ann Berrington and Dr Steven Roberts a one-day conference was held in London in December 2014. Participants considered how young people's aspirations and realities for living and learning in the UK are responding to societal changes, not least increased economic insecurity, housing and welfare changes. The event featured talks from Professor Andy Furlong (University of Glasgow) and Ben Corr (Greater London Authority). An invited panel of youth and housing experts from the third sector, local and national Government, including Vidhya Alakeson (Resolution Foundation) and Julie Jefferies (Office for National Statistics) discussed policy implications resulting from the project findings.
