Research Programme
Migration, mobility and the labour market
Interregional migration and skills redistribution
This project aims to study the impact of recent migration on the native and non-native working population in the UK. The impact of migrants on the labour market will be studied by examining whether these recent migrants ‘crowd out’ either natives or earlier generation immigrants. The role of social networks on labour market outcomes for migrants will also be investigated. This is a quantitative project, mainly using the Labour Force Survey.
