    ESRC Connecting Generations progress report

We have recently published the ESRC Connecting Generations Highlights 2022-2024 report, detailing our research and activities during the first two years of the project.

The report explains the remit and aims of the project and draws attention to some of the impact the research team have had with their work so far. In the report, we demonstrate how we have been working with policymakers, practitioners and the wider academic community to ensure our research has an ongoing and lasting impact. We also share our event highlights from the last two years, as well as some of our extensive media coverage.

As Professor Jane Falkingham CBE explains in her Director's introduction to the report: "Two years ago, at the start of the Connecting Generations programme, I was excited to get to work with established colleagues, but also new research teams on this important topic of understanding societal change.

"The start of any research project can be an uncertain time, but it is a testament to the expertise, experience, and dedication of our Connecting Generations members to be able to show you in this report just how much progress we’ve already made."

She continues: "It is a career highlight for me to be leading this esteemed team, and I am thankful to the ESRC for recognising the value of this collaboration and funding this major strategic programme."

As Chair of the ESRC Connecting Generations Advisory Board, Professor Sir Ian Diamond, the UK's National Statistician, comments: "I am pleased to see the progress that Connecting Generations members have made in the first two years of their research programme and have thoroughly enjoyed reading through the impact highlights within this report. I look forward to seeing how the team continues to develop and contribute to this crucial research agenda."
