New issue of Changing Populations out now
The latest issue of the CPC-CG newsletter magazine, Changing Populations, is now published.
In the 14th issue, we report on how our research is supporting this year’s World Population Day theme ‘To leave no one behind, count everyone’. You can also find out about how our Resolution Foundation colleagues were analysing voter turnout trends and political manifestos in terms of intergenerational fairness in the lead up to the 4 July UK general election.
We present some early results from our ESRC Connecting Generations Kinship Model, discuss the work of the research team investigating ethnic differences in pension protection in the UK, and report on research findings comparing educational, employment, and occupational mobility patterns between second-generation immigrants and White British individuals in the UK.
You can also learn how Facebook data has been used to estimate the number of European migrants living in the UK in the run-up to Brexit, and how survey data has revealed that in India the Covid-19 pandemic led to larger declines in life expectancy among more disadvantaged and marginalised groups.
We also give updates on our International Women’s Day activities from earlier in the year, and you can catch up on our activities from the European Population Conference in June.
And finally, you can find out more about some of our team and their achievements in the researcher spotlight, and we’ve included links to our latest webinar recordings in case you missed them the first time. We also link to our ESRC Connecting Generations Highlights 2022-2024 progress report, detailing our research and activities during the first two years of the project.
We hope you enjoy reading it and welcome your feedback and questions about our research. Subscribe to the newsletter and view past issues.
