Overview

The European Day of Demography (4 February) is celebrated every year in memory of the London merchant, John Graunt, who was the first person to conduct demographic and epidemiological research in his home city in 1662. The event is organized by Population Europe (the network of European research institutions in the field of demography), the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB), and the European Commission, in cooperation with other international partner institutions including CPC-CG.

We participate in this annual event to raise the profile of demography and its value and relevance in understanding our society and shaping public policy.
